Four Golfing Tips to Improve Accuracy
There are thousands of different little tricks and tips that you can follow in order to improve your golf game and without trying out new tips and tricks you won't improve your game very quickly. I've compiled a small list of four excellent tips to utilize to help improve your shot accuracy. Accuracy is one of the most important things in golf and any tips to improve the accuracy of your golf shot should be read and utilized.
1. Aim for a Target
It doesn't matter where the golf ball is located every shot that you take when playing golf should be aimed for a target. Aiming for a target with each shot will help you determine the weight needed and which club is needed to hit a certain distance. Once you get good at this you'll hit the more fairways and greens then you've ever hit before.
2. Switch up Your Club Selection
When you're standing at the tee you don't always need to be holding a driver in your hand. For those holes that are either short in distance or require a change in a direction you should think about selecting a club that will offer a more accurate approach. Power isn't always everything in golf, knowing when to use different clubs is an important battle that you need to win to be successful. So next time your on the tee of a par three try using one of your irons instead of your driver.
3. Avoid Ego At All Costs
Golf isn't a sport where your ego can become involved. You need to keep your ego out of the game as much as possible, when you start bringing your ego into play you risk mistakes at a higher then usual rate due to your mindset. Try thinking of hitting fairways and greens and not think about being the superstar golfer who can drive the ball 300 yards.
4. Have a "Go-To" Golf Club
All golfers who have played for a considerable amount of time have had the pleasure of having a "go-to club" which is one golf club in your arsenal that you're completely comfortable with and can use to get out of tough situations. If you don't have a "lucky" or "go-to" golf club selected then you need to decide which club will work when in need of having a club that will get you out of any situation. Whether it's a three iron or three wood if it's your "go-to" club then use it when it the "go-to" situation.
All of these four tips in one way or another help with the accuracy of your golf game. If you can't see how it helps your game then you don't understand the concept. By following the tips above you'll improve your accuracy and overall golf game on the whole. Look for lots more fresh golf tips in the near future on the blog as I have lots more coming. Writing down these tips or having theme somewhere accessible is ideal because often you'll forget one of them and need to revert back to the original post to remember it.
Bonus Tip
Although not relating to your shot accuracy one of the best beginner golfing tips anyone can tell you is to always keep a genuine score of your round and keep all of the scorecards you use so you can refer back to them and analyze your errors and how they can be fixed. Even golfing professionals use this tip because it can help tremendously. By keeping old scorecards you can view your stats for a single hole over the course of the scorecards which will assist you with locating shots you need to work on. You'll also see if only certain holes or shots are giving you the hassles and you can spend more time working on that then. For instance if you bogey every bunker hole then you need to clearly work on your sand trap shooting and shooting to avoid sand traps in the first place. Practice makes perfect, but it takes lots of practice.
